Systems integrator IVC Media has strengthened its management team with the appointment of John Smith to the board. Smith's remit will be to focus the company on converged market sectors and coincides with a renewed direction for the organisation.

John Smith has a broad background in IT, telecoms, AV broadcast and print. Prior to joining IVC Media, Smith held senior roles at Sony, OKI Systems and Logica, where he was principal consultant working on customer intelligence management projects with global telecoms clients.

As part of the new management structure at IVC, a new IP division has also been created, headed up by Andrew Smith. Most notably, before joining the company, Andrew Smith worked in international account sales at logistics giant UPS and was been involved in the development of two VOIP companies.
