The Vitec Group, provider of equipment and services to the broadcast, entertainment and photographic industries, has announced the acquisition of The Camera Store (TCS), one of the UK's leading broadcast camera mounting equipment hire companies.

Based in London, TCS was established in 1996 by a team of experienced camera operators, led by managing director Tim Highmoor. The company offers a combination of the latest, high quality camera support equipment for hire by broadcast and production companies backed with a comprehensive service and repair division.

This acquisition complements Vitec's position as a provider of total equipment solutions for the international broadcast industry. The TCS business will fit seamlessly into Vitec's Camera Dynamics business unit, whose brands include some of the broadcast industry's best known names - Vinten, Vinten Radamec, Sachtler, OConnor, Petrol and Autoscript.

With this acquisition Vinten's UK equipment hire department, currently based at the company's headquarters, will move to the TCS site at Teddington in West London.
