Multi-language user interface for Mediator 4
21 August, 2008 - 07:45An important addition to Mediator and a possible first for a broadcast content management system will be demonstrated by Pharos at IBC 2008. The new Mediator multi-language user interface allows users to share the same system and material, working together both locally and remotely in their preferred language. International content owners, service providers and channel managers can now integrate their staff and talent anywhere in the world. Remote users can browse the same content securely using Mediator 4 via the Internet.
"Few successful media businesses can operate profitably in a single country so expansion into multiple territories is now often key to long-term business success," said Russell Grute at Pharos. "This is a challenge in all areas of broadcast operations as international staff increasingly need to collaborate as a unified team. They need to work together to produce content and promote channels for multiple territories. Adding multi-language capability means that staff throughout the business can use Mediator to share the same content, workflow and infrastructure more effectively than ever before. Mediator's new multi-language capabilities also enhance Pharos support services. Staff at the Pharos UK support centre can securely access customers systems remotely and work in English whilst the customers technical and operational staff can view content, metadata and processes in their local language. This can help to resolve support issues in daily operations quickly and decisively."
