Calrec Audio's new Artemis console made its UK debut at BVE this month. Based on the award-winning Apollo platform, Artemis utilises the same core technologies such as Bluefin2 and Hydra2 which equips the console with an enormous routing and processing capacity.

Bluefin2, the next generation of Calrec's trademark Bluefin High Density Signal Processing platform, provides substantial resources at multiple sample rates. At 48kHz, Bluefin2 gives Artemis up to 640 channel processing paths, 128 program busses, 64 IFB/Track outputs and 32 auxiliaries.

Telegent Systems and Brightstar Corp have announced a partnership to bring a low-cost handset that delivers live, free-to-air broadcast TV to Latin American and African consumers prior to this summer's 2010 football World Cup in South Africa. Brightstar's Avvio 505 device, which incorporates Telegent's free-to-air analogue mobile TV receiver, will provide consumers on the go with an affordable way to view this summer's football matches.

Following strong market interest Panasonic Professional Broadcast & IT Systems (PBITS) Europe has announced that it is to extend its Grass Valley EDIUS Neo 2 Booster nonlinear editing software bundling promotion. The software will continue to be bundled for free with purchases of selected camcorder models until 30 September this year.

JVC has announced the early-March launch of the DLA-SH7NL, a 4K2K D-ILA projector. It incorporates three 1.27-inch 4K2K D-ILA display devices for high-quality imaging and dual ultra-high-pressure mercury lamps for 5000 lumens of brightness. Combining superb definition and resolution with low-cost maintenance, the 4K2K D-ILA projector is expected to be widely accepted for planetariums, museums, simulators and medical institutions, as well as used for high-spec designing and monitoring.
